Dealing with Variability of Lightning Discharges Density: Experience Protecting Transmission Lines in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula(in English and also in Spanish)

Dr. Ramírez Pacheco received his Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Puebla, his Master of Science Degree from the National Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. He joined the CFE in 1993 and has held different positions in Transmission and Distribution, currently working in the network’s Special Studies and Compensation Department. Author of national and international articles in specialized magazines and conferences, he is active in several CIGRE Working Groups. His research areas include coordination insulation, partial discharges, transients and geomagnetic currents.
