Seismic Requirements for Electrical Substations: Factors & Experience Driving Stringent National Standard in Chile (in English and also in Spanish)

Ms. Aravena graduated as a Structural Civil Engineer from Universidad de Chile and also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She has over 30 years of professional experience in Chilean electric power transmission, mainly in the areas of structural and seismic design, and she has also been involved in overhead transmission line and substation projects up to 500 kV. Her different assignments have included both new projects as well as modifications to existing infrastructure that requires updating or upgrading. She is a member of CIGRE and AICE, the Chilean National Association of Structural Civil Engineers.
